 The stone background references the rock formations that are his symbol. He is
designed as an ephemeral watery figure to symbolize his shapeshifting ability. He holds
emblem, a sword with two blades fused at the middle with adinkra symbols that read
“Strength” and “Ingenuity”, Both blades emitting lightning. His helmet crest is modeled
after the animal masks of the Asanti people and is in the form of a bearded fish with a
double line of cowrie shells on its back and a braided dorsal midrib, which is one of the
forms that Tano takes. His legendary gun known as "Kodiawuo", literally meaning
"Pandemic," is modeled after the huge weapons that I have always admired shown in
drawings of Cable from Marvel Comics.
